1. There Is Only One God
We, the Mashiachim, firmly uphold the unshakable and eternal truth revealed in Holy Scripture: There is only one God (Isaiah 43:10; 1 Corinthians 8:6), and God is One (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29). These fundamental principles, rooted in the revelation given to Musa (a.k.a. Moses), define the absolute monotheism that we hold and proclaim without compromise. The Father Alone is God
From the beginning, Scripture declares that there is no other God but YHWH:"To you it was shown, that you might know that YHWH Himself is God; there is none other besides Him." -Deuteronomy 4:35
"Hear, O Israel: YHWH is our God, YHWH is one!" -Deuteronomy 6:4
The prophet Isaiah affirms this truth repeatedly, making it clear that YHWH alone is God, and there has never been, nor will there ever be, another:
"You are My witnesses," says YHWH,
And My servant whom I have chosen,
That you may know and believe Me,
And understand that I am He.
Before Me there was no God formed,
Nor shall there be after Me." -Isaiah 43:10
and again;
"I am YHWH, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me." -Isaiah 45:5
and again;
"Remember the former things of old,
For I am God, and there is no other;
I am God, and there is none like Me." -Isaiah 46:9
The New Testament Affirms the Oneness of God
The apostles of the Lord Yeshua HaMashiach continued to teach this foundational truth:"Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Yeshua HaMashiach, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." -1 Corinthians 8:6
This verse is unambiguous: the one God is the Father, and He alone is the source of all things. There are no exceptions. The so-called "gods" of the world are nothing compared to Him:
"For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Yeshua HaMashiach, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." -1 Corinthians 8:5-6
Paul reaffirms this doctrine in his letter to Timothy:
"For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Mashiach Yeshua." -1 Timothy 2:5
Even Yeshua Himself prayed to His God, declaring this truth:
"And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Yeshua HaMashiach whom You have sent." -John 17:3
No Other God but the One True God
The message of Scripture, from the Torah to the Prophets to the words of the Messiah and His apostles, is clear: The Father is the one and only true God. There is no other. We stand on this unchanging foundation, proclaiming the truth of YHWH's absolute oneness. Let no deception of man cloud this reality:
"I am YHWH, and there is no other;
There is no God besides Me." -Isaiah 45:5
2. God is One
Not only is there only one God, who is the Father (1 Corinthians 8:6), but God Himself IS One (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29), meaning He is indivisible and not made up of separate parts or persons. His oneness is absolute and unbreakable. This means that God is not a composite being made up of multiple distinct entities—He is a single, unified existence. He is not divided in essence, nature, or personhood. His oneness is not just about numerical singularity, but about the complete unity of His being. Nowhere is this truth more explicitly expressed than in Deuteronomy 6:4, where we find the foundational declaration of the one true faith:
שְׁמַע יִשְׂרָאֵל יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ יְהוָה אֶחָדֿ
This verse, known as the "Shema" and transliterated from Hebrew as, "Shema Y'israel! YHWH elohenu YHWH echad!", translates into English as, "Hear, O Israel! YHWH is our God, YHWH is One!"
This foundational pillar of monotheism taught to us through the revelation of Musa (a.k.a. Moses) is reiterated by the Lord Yeshua in Mark 12:29, where Yeshua Himself elevates it to the first part of the greatest commandment, saying:
"The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, YHWH our God, YHWH is One." (Mark 12:29)
This commandment does more than just declare the existence of a single deity. It emphasizes the oneness and unique singularity of God. God's singular nature was the mark of every prophet and apostle, and is a cornerstone of the Mashiachim faith, compelling us to recognize and worship the One and only God as the only God in existence. It calls for an understanding of monotheism that goes beyond the mere acknowledgment of one God among many or of pagan three-in-one gods such as those invented by the Cults of Constantine, to a profound recognition of the true God and His absolute uniqueness and the exclusivity of divine sovereignty which He alone holds. As it is written:
"God, the blessed and only Ruler, the King of kings and Lord of lords, who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, WHOM NO ONE HAS SEEN OR CAN SEE. To Him be honor and might forever. Amen." -1 Timothy 6:15-16 NIV
Although God reveals Himself as having various attributes and descriptors throughout the Bible, He is One - God is not two, not three, not nine. God is One (Mark 12:29).
For example, God is the "Father" (Deuteronomy 32:6; 1 Corinthians 8:6), the "Holy Spirit" (Psalm 51:11; Isaiah 63:10-11). Indeed, "God is Spirit" (John 4:24) and "God is Holy" (Psalm 99:9), therefore, it is obvious that He is the "Holy Spirit."
Other descriptions of His nature and character include "God Almighty" (Genesis 17:1), "Man of War" (Exodus 15:3), "Merciful" (Exodus 34:6), "Gracious" (Exodus 34:6), "Jealous" (Exodus 34:14),"a Consuming Fire" (Deuteronomy 4:24), "One" (Deuteronomy 6:4), "A Just Judge" (Psalm 7:11), "Angry" (Psalm 7:11), "God of Vengeance" (Psalm 94:1), "Furious" (Nahum 1:2), "Shepherd" (Psalm 23:1), "Unchanging" (Malachi 3:6), "Love" (1 John 4:8,16), "Light" (1 John 1:5), "the Great King over all the earth" (Psalm 47:2), and more.
These manifold descriptors illustrate Who God is, but do not contradict the cardinal rule that "God is One" (Dt 6:4; Mk 12:29). These various titles are descriptors of God's essence, nature, and character, they are not and were never meant to be taken as separate persons, or individuals.
The Lord Yeshua was neither an eastern mystic nor a Greco-Roman pagan. Yeshua was a stark, Torah-observant, Jewish Rabbi. The belief in a god who was secretly a 'trinity' made up of "three persons" is not only wrong, it's an insult, an invention of pagans, a complete fabrication of man, a misinterpretation of biblical descriptors, and something a Torah-observant Jewish Rabbi like Yeshua would have utterly rejected.
It is also an error we the Mashiachim ardently reject.
The first part of the greatest commandment spoken by the Lord Yeshua HaMashiach Himself in Mark 12:29 stands as an unshakable and unyielding truth against such man-made pagan theories: "God is One!" (Dt 6:4; Mk 12:29); not two, not three, not six, not nine; but One. This absolute Oneness of God is an uncompromising affirmation of the absolute monotheism taught by the Bible and therefore, also taught by we the Mashiachim.
As Paul the Apostle made abundantly clear, "Yet for us there is ONE GOD, THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live (1 Corinthians 8:6).
The One and only God, the Father, is not fragmented into three gods or three persons. He is a single (Isaiah 45:5), invisible (John 1:18) God. He is One God (Exodus 20:2-3) Who is One (Deuteronomy 6:4; Mark 12:29).
As God Himself declares, "Therefore know this day, and consider it in your heart, that YHWH Himself is God in heaven above and on the earth beneath; THERE IS NO OTHER" (Deut 4:39).
This unwavering declaration resounds in the heart, mind, and soul of every Mashiachim. We echo the words of the prophet Isaiah, "...Understand that I am He. Before Me there was no God formed, Nor shall there be after Me" (Isaiah 43:10b).
3. The Holy Spirit Is the Spirit of God, the Father
Since God is holy and God is spirit, it is evident that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God.
1. God Is Holy
Scripture explicitly states that holiness is an essential attribute of God:
"Who is like You, O YHWH, among the gods? Who is like You, glorious in holiness, Fearful in praises, doing wonders?" -Exodus 15:11
"For I am YHWH your God. You shall therefore consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy." -Leviticus 11:44
2. God Is Spirit
Yeshua Himself teaches that God is Spirit:
"God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." -John 4:24
Since God is holy and God is Spirit, it is undeniable that the "Holy Spirit" is simply the Spirit of God, the Father.
3. The Holy Spirit Is Explicitly Called the Spirit of the Father
Scripture directly refers to the Holy Spirit as the Spirit of the Father:
"For it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you." -Matthew 10:20
Furthermore, the Holy Spirit is repeatedly called the Spirit of God:
"The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." -Genesis 1:2
"Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?" (1 Corinthians 3:16)
4. The Holy Spirit Belongs to God and Comes from Him
The Holy Spirit is sent by the Father:
"But when the Helper comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me." (John 15:26)
5. The Holy Spirit Is Not a Separate Being or "Person" but the Very Presence and Power of God
The Holy Spirit is always described as belonging to God, never as an independent person:
"Do not cast me away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me." -Psalm 51:11
"Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says YHWH of hosts." -Zechariah 4:6
"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption." -Ephesians 4:30
4. The Son of God is NOT God
The doctrine of the Trinity, a heresy propagated by the Cults of Constantine, is a direct assault on the truth of Scripture. The clear, unambiguous teaching of the Bible is that God is one, and that Yeshua HaMashiach, the Son of God, is distinct from Him. Those who twist the Word of God to force Yeshua into the position of God Himself commit blasphemy and deny the very words of Scripture.
1. God is Invisible and Unseen – Yeshua is Visible and Seen
One of the simplest and most irrefutable proofs that Yeshua is not God is found in the fundamental attribute of God’s invisibility:
- “NO ONE has seen God at ANY TIME...” (John 1:18)
- “Now to the King eternal, immortal, INVISIBLE, to God who alone is wise, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.” (1 Timothy 1:17)
- “The blessed and only Sovereign... WHOM NO MAN HAS SEEN NOR CAN SEE” (1 Timothy 6:15-16)
- “...for he endured AS SEEING HIM WHO IS INVISIBLE.” (Hebrews 11:27)
- “NO ONE has seen God at ANY TIME.” (1 John 4:12)
Scripture establishes an absolute rule: If something is seen, it is not God.Yeshua, however, was seen by thousands of people. This fact alone destroys the Trinitarian deception. God is invisible, yet Yeshua was visible; therefore, Yeshua is not God.
2. Isaiah 9:6 and the Misuse of 'Mighty God' (El Gibbor)
Trinitarians claim that Yeshua is called El Gibbor (אֵל גִּבּוֹר, Mighty God) in Isaiah 9:6, thus proving He is God. However, their own inconsistent hypocrisy betrays them:
- In Ezekiel 32:21, the phrase El Gibborim (אֵל גִּבּוֹרִים) is used for pagan "mighty warriors" in hell.
- Trinitarian translators here render the title of 'El Gibbor' as “mighty warriors” instead of “Mighty God”—exposing their hypocritical bias.
If PAGAN men who are in hell can be called El Gibbor, then calling Yeshua El Gibbor does not mean He is God Almighty.
This double standard proves that Isaiah 9:6 is not a Trinitarian proof text, but rather a prophecy of Yeshua’s might as a ruler, not His secret identity as God.
3. Hebrews 1:8-9 – The Misinterpretation of Titles (Elohim, El Gibbor, Theos, etc.)
Trinitarians claim that Hebrews 1:8-9 proves Yeshua is God because it quotes Psalm 45:6-7, where Yeshua is called "Elohim" (translated as "God") in the Hebrew Scriptures. However, being called "Elohim" does not mean one is the Almighty God. The Bible itself applies this title to other figures, including humans:
- Moses is called Elohim (God): “See, I have made you God (Hebrew: Elohim) to Pharaoh.” (Exodus 7:1)
- The Judges of Israel are called Elohim (God) and Theos (God): “I said, ‘You are gods (Hebrew: Elohim), and all of you are children of the Most High.’” (Psalm 82:6). Yeshua affirms this in John 10:34-35, quoting this Psalm and calling them "Theoi" (gods) in Greek.
- Pagan warriors in hell are called "El Gibbor": “The strong among the mighty (Hebrew: El Gibborim) shall speak to him out of the midst of Sheol” (Ezekiel 32:21). Yet this same title is translated "Mighty God" in Isaiah 9:6 for the Son.
- Clearly, if Moses, Israelite judges, and even pagan men in hell can be called “Elohim,” "El Gibbor," or "Theos," then Yeshua being called any of these titles does not make Him THE One God. Instead, it signifies His high status and authority.
Paul’s Clarification: There is Only One True God—The Father
“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as there are many gods and many lords), yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” (1 Corinthians 8:5-6)
Here, Paul acknowledges many who are called “gods” (i.e., Elohim, El, El Gibbor, Theos, etc.) in the Bible, including Yeshua, but declares only ONE God—the Father—is the ONE GOD of Whom are all things.
4. The Image of God is Not God
“He is the image of the invisible God.” (Colossians 1:15)
“For IN Him dwells all the fullness of God's Deity bodily.” (Colossians 2:9)
God is invisible, but Yeshua is His image. An image is a representation, not the thing itself. Yeshua is the visible representation of the invisible God, just as the temple was a dwelling for God without being God itself:
“YHWH is IN His holy Temple.” (Psalm 11:4; Habakkuk 2:20)
God can dwell in something without that thing being God.
For example, “God abides IN us” (1 John 4:12), yet we are not God. Therefore, when it is said that the fullness of God dwells in Yeshua, it means that God’s presence and authority were given to Him—but Yeshua is not God Himself.
The Firstborn of Creation – A Literal Son, Not God
“He is the firstborn over all creation.” (Colossians 1:15)
“When there were no depths, I was begotten.” (Proverbs 8:24-26)
“And I shall make My Firstborn the highest of the kings of the earth.” (Psalm 89:27)
Trinitarians falsely claim that “firstborn” in Colossians 1:15 merely means “preeminent.” However, Scripture consistently uses firstborn to denote literal birth or priority in time.
Proverbs 8:24-26 speaks of Hakmah (Wisdom), which early believers understood to be Yeshua, declaring that He was begotten before creation. Micah 5:2 further affirms:
“Whose goings forth are from of old, from ancient times.”
If Yeshua were God, He would be eternal. Yet, Scripture calls Him "begotten," "firstborn," and going forth "from ancient times." Clearly, He was brought forth by God before creation but is not the Eternal God Himself. The very fact that He is the "Only Begotten" eliminates the possibility that He is eternal, as there must have been some point in time, no matter how long ago, where He was actually "begotten." Those who deny He was "begotten" at some point in time (as many Trinitarians do), deny that He is begotten at all. And those who deny He was begotten at all deny that He is the Son Himself. And as it is written, "Whoever denies the Son does not have the Father either; he who acknowledges the Son has the Father also" (1 John 2:23).
5. The Only True God is the Father
The New Testament explicitly identifies the Father alone as the one true God:
“Yet for us there is ONE God: THE FATHER, of whom are all things, and we for Him. And one Lord: Yeshua HaMashiach, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.” (1 Corinthians 8:6)
“And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” (John 17:3)
If the Father alone is “the only true God,” then Yeshua is not God.
God Does Not Share His Glory – Yeshua is Not Worshiped as God
God is clear: He alone is to be worshiped and does not share His glory:
“I am YHWH, that is My name; And My glory I will not give to another.” (Isaiah 42:8)
Yeshua Himself confirmed that worship belongs to God alone:
“You shall bow down to the Lord your God, and Him ONLY shall you worship.” (Matthew 4:10)
If Yeshua were God, He would have demanded worship for Himself. Instead, He directs worship to the Father. The forced Trinitarian misinterpretations that claim Yeshua was worshiped as God are built on distortions of Scripture and lies.
The Truth Cannot Be Ignored
The Cults of Constantine have led many astray with their blasphemous Trinitarian dogma, but Scripture remains clear:
- God is invisible – Yeshua was visible.
- El Gibbor does not prove deity, as men are called El Gibborim.
- Yeshua is the image of God, not God Himself. The image of a thing is not the thing. It's the IMAGE of a thing. If it were the thing, it wouldn't be called an "image," it would just be called the thing.
- Yeshua was begotten and is the firstborn of creation, not the Eternal God.
- The Father alone is the only true God.
- Worship is reserved for God alone, and Yeshua directs worship to the Father.
The overwhelming testimony of Scripture is that Yeshua is the Son of God, but He is not God. Those who have ears to hear, let them hear.
As Mashiachim, we stand unwaveringly and unapologetically in the light of these truths, boldly affirming the absolute monotheism of the faith of Yeshua HaMashiach our Lord:
There is only one God and God is One! This is our proclamation, this is our faith.
Tell us: Can YOUR "church" proclaim the with us the following?:
"Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Yeshua HaMashiach, through whom are all things, and through whom we live." -1 Corinthians 8:6
May God our Father richly bless all His Saints with knowledge and wisdom, which only proceeds from Him in the Name of His only begotten Son, Yeshua HaMashiach our Lord. Ameen.
Shlam alokhun (Peace to you) b’shmay d’Yeshua M’shikha (in the Name of Yeshua HaMashiach) our Lord, in the ancient language which He spoke -Aramaic. Ameen.
-We, the Mashiachim
