The word Mashiachim (pronounced Mah-shee-ah-keem) may sound quite foreign to a modern English-speaking audience, but it is the original Hebrew word used to identify the followers of Yeshua HaMashiach (known commonly in modern times as "Jesus Christ"). It is a name that most Hebrew-speaking people will refuse to call us, because they understand it's implications, namely that 1) the True Mashiach (Messiah) has already come and that, 2) We, the Mashiachim, are His people -- And this is precisely why we absolutely adore the name. Yeshua HaMashiach is the Rock of Offense (Rom 9:33; 1Pet 2:8) and was not afraid to offend people with the Truth. We are like Him.
Indeed, speaking of
foreign-sounding terms, we believe it is important for people to know that the
name "Jesus" would have sounded completely foreign to those
who lived and walked with Yeshua in the first century AD. We also believe it is
important for people to know that the name "Jesus" wasn't even invented or used until about 400 years ago, in 1629, where the name first
appeared in the Cambridge 1st Revision of the King James Bible. The real Name
of the Son of God is Yeshua.
Furthermore, the word "Christ" is an English rendering of the Greek term Χρήστος (Christos), which means "anointed." Mashiach is the Hebrew word for "anointed," and is the word the apostle Kepha (a.k.a. Peter) would have used to describe Yeshua in Mark 8:29.
Additionally, just as the word Christ-ian once meant the people of the Christ, Mashiach-im means the people of the Messiah and is the combination of two Hebrew words: Mashiach, which is the correct Hebrew pronunciation of the Anglicized word Messiah; and im, a Hebrew word that means (roughly in this context) the people of.
Some people might then ask, "What's the difference between regular "Christians" and "Mashiachim" Christians?
We're glad you've asked.
The difference is our
beliefs. Simply put, we the Mashiachim believe and follow the Word of God as it
is delivered in the 67 books and letters of the Holy Bible. We teach and obey
the Word of God. We consent to the wholesome words of our Lord Yeshua
HaMashiach and to the doctrine which accords with godliness (1Tim 6:3).
Although many people who call themselves "Christian" these days may claim the same, we, the Mashiachim, can provide myriad proofs to the contrary. Truly, modern so-called "Christians" have fallen so far away from Biblical truth and culture that it has become necessary for true Christians, i.e. Mashiachim Christians, to completely separate from them -even by name. As it is written:
"If anyone (1.) teaches otherwise
and (2.) does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our
Lord Yeshua HaMashiach, (3.) and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, he is
proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words,
from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, useless wranglings of
men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is
a means of gain. (4.) From such withdraw yourself. -1 Timothy 6:3-5
(1.) The modern, so-called
"chirstian" church no longer teaches sound Biblical doctrine, they "teach otherwise".
(2.) The modern, so-called
"christian" church "does not consent to
wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Yeshua HaMashiach" (a.k.a. Jesus the Christ).
(3.) The modern, so-called
"christian" church does not consent "to the doctrine which accords with godliness".
(4.) Therefore, in
accordance with 1 Timothy 6:3-5, we, the Mashiachim, have obeyed the
command to "withdraw ourselves" from the modern,
so-called "christian" church, not only in deed, but also in name.
Therefore, we, the Mashiachim, are the true Ekklesia (Church) of the Lord Yeshua HaMashiach and lay full claim
to all duties, rights, and powers of the Church of God in the Name of our Lord Yeshua
HaMashiach our King (see 1Cor 4:20; Matt 3:14-15, 10:1,18:18; Luke 9:1,10:19;
24:49; John 20:21-23; Acts 1:8; James 5:14-15).
If you are visiting this
website as someone familiar with the modern so-called "christian"
church, you might find our teachings, practices, and culture just as strange as
the Name Yeshua HaMashiach was when you first heard it, but we challenge you to
search the Scriptures to see if our teachings align with the Word of God. As
the Lord Yeshua HaMashiach has commanded:
"Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with
righteous judgment." -John 7:24
Be like the Bereans, as it
is written of them:
"These were more
fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all
readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things
were so." (Acts 17:10-11)
We the Mashiachim are the
original, ancient, apostolic Church (Ekklesia) of Yeshua HaMashiach because we
adhere to the original, ancient teachings and traditions (1Cor 11:2; 2Thess
2:15) of the holy prophets and apostles. We challenge you to search through
our articles of faith and compare them to the Scriptures. For, as it is
written of the original, ancient, apostolic Ekklesia of Yeshua:
"They continued
steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship,
in the breaking of bread, and in prayers." -Acts 2:42
We the Mashiachim
teach "the apostles' doctrine" (Acts 2:42), which God has faithfully preserved for
us within the pages of the Holy Bible.
Therefore, the purpose of
this website is twofold:
1. To unite the true followers of Yeshua Ha Mashiach in the apostles' doctrine (Acts 2:42); and,2. To expose false teachings (Jude 1:3) and the unfruitful works of darkness (Ephesians 5:11).
